 LA LA LAND : MOVIE CLIP REVIEW: OPENING SCENE

The opening scene of La La Land instantly pulls you into its dreamy, colorful world. It starts on a crowded Los Angeles freeway where everyone’s stuck in traffic phones out, windows down, heat blazing. Then, out of nowhere, one driver hops out, and suddenly the entire highway turns into a massive musical stage.

What’s so brilliant about this scene is how it transforms something super ordinary such as a traffic jam into something magical. The song “Another Day of Sun” isn’t just catchy it sets the tone for the whole film. It’s about chasing dreams, taking risks, and holding on to hope even when life feels stuck.the moment the crowd gathers near the truck and they are happy are cheering each other up shows us that we take life so seriously sometimes

The camera work is insane too. It moves smoothly through all the chaos, giving the feeling that LA itself is alive and dancing. The bright costumes, sunshine, and diverse dancers all scream energy and optimism. Yet, if you look closely, the lyrics hint that not everyone’s dream comes true so even in this happy chaos, there’s a bittersweet truth underneath.

This scene perfectly sums up what La La Land is about the beauty and heartbreak of following your dreams. It’s bold, it’s joyful, and it makes you believe even for a few minutes that anything is possible. Even thought we had to write about one scene watching the movie was a whole another experience. Personally it was really hard choosing a one single scene man but I hope I represented whatever there was to.
