       AS Level Media Studies Introduction

Media Studies is a subject that explores how media shapes the world around us from the news we read to the films, advertisements, and social media we interact with every day. At AS Level, this course encourages us to think critically about how media products are created, how they communicate meaning, and how audiences interpret them. We learn to analyse media language, representation, industry, and audience, while also developing practical skills in media production.
I chose Media Studies because I’ve always been fascinated by how powerful media can be in influencing opinions, trends, and even cultural values. It allows me to look beyond what’s on the screen and understand the decisions, techniques, and messages behind it.
I also decided to combine Media with Computer Science because I believe the two subjects complement each other perfectly. The creative side of media blends well with the technical and problem-solving aspects of computing. Together, they open up possibilities for digital content creation, design, and innovation skills that are essential in today’s technology-driven media world. And I shall say our teacher ma'am nida is helping us a lot to understand this fantastic world of media studies.
Overall, this course is not only helping me develop analytical and creative thinking, but also preparing me for future studies or careers in digital media, communication, or technology.
